Tim Vinson

Tim Vinson is an administrator, coordinator, and teacher with 35 years of service in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE). He currently serves as a Program Specialist for the Georgia Department of Education, supporting Architecture, Construction, Communications, and Transportation Pathways. In this role, he works closely with educators, industry partners, and school leaders to strengthen high-quality CTAE programs that prepare students for technical and leadership careers.
Tim previously administered the Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship programs in Muscogee County. His creation of the Pratt & Whitney award-winning WBL program, now recognized as a national model, has impacted thousands of students.
A former metalworking instructor, he contributed to multiple state curriculum revision committees and advised SkillsUSA students who earned numerous state and national awards. His honors include Georgia’s WBL Teacher of the Year, multiple Partnership of the Year Awards, and Teacher of the Year recognitions for both his school and district.
A past President of the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education, Tim has actively advocated for CTAE with state and national legislators. He resides in Harris County, where he enjoys the outdoors, and continues to support initiatives that help students learn, lead, and thrive.
